The Darkest Country Road"You know, I had a dream like this once," you said, and as you described it to me, my attention wandered to a random sign that advised me to "RIDE WITH TRAFFIC." But there was no traffic in our idyllic microcosm, so I silently suggested that traffic find someone else to ride with, and leave us to our light and happy conversation, and "the darkest country road, and the strong scent of evergreen." The world was black outside my Chevrolet, save for that road on which my headlights fell, and the reflectors on the mailboxes of the invisible houses too far from the road to be seen. Inside, everything visible was tinThe Darkest Country Road

I Will Love You in the FalloutLast night, I swiped a credit card for an old man with bad teeth, and it occurred to me that one day, there won't be any such thing as cash. The government will collect it all up, and give everyone a little card with a barcode on it, and a tiny, very durable machine with a laser, a keypad, and an LCD screen, and everyone's day-to-day transactions will be carried out electronically, and the government will record and tax them all. A grandfather won't be able to give his daughter's son a dollar without the government taking its cut. And the crazy foaming street preachers around the world will call it the Mark ofI Will Love You in the Fallout

Gray DaySome days I wake up, and the world is gray. The air has no smell. Food has no taste. I'd be numb if I didn't feel cold. I stop for some coffee on the way to work, but it doesn't help me shake this sloth. If anything, the warm drink just makes me feel more drowsy. I want to go back to bed. Walking down the street, I feel smothered by swarm of life around me. I feel like an ant in a pile of beetles. I hate bugs. Looking at the faces that pass me by, I can't decide whether I hate chipper morning people more than half-dead zombies like me. Nevermind. I don't haGray Day

You think life isn't fair? Guess what, you're right, too f-ing bad.

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Oh, man, now that's on my page permanently...

It's been undeniably dear to me, I don't know why:
When every other part of life seemed locked behind shutters,
I knew the worthless dregs we are,
The selfless, loving saints we are,
The melting, sliding dice we've always been.
